Ileana M. Ramirez is a healthcare strategist, writer, and budding librarian. Her work is focused on telling intersectional women’s stories and championing health equity and access. Ileana lives in Virginia Beach with her husband, four children, dog, and ever-expanding piles of books.

Sugar Honey Iced Tea (SHIT) (For the Birds Trapped in Airports, 2025), co-authored with Sara J. Winston, is her first book. The book was released during an eponymous exhibition at Candela Gallery in Richmond, VA, in June of 2025.

SHIT was named a Printed Matter staff pick during the 2025 Printed Matter New York Art Book Fair.

The special edition of SHIT is held in the collection of University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
